Research interests: Seismic tomography provides a powerful tool for visualising the interior of the Earth – but it is important that we understand how the choices made when setting up a tomographic inversion impact on the model we ultimately produce. My research to date has focussed on developing tools and techniques to allow robust experimentation in seismic tomography, and to allow the creation of more accurate models. Other interests include the problem of seismic source determination, the integration of seismological and geodetic datasets, and methods for automating the handling and processing of seismic data.
